Guide to Instagram marketing

First of all, why even use Instagram?

Social media influences the purchase decisions of buyers a great deal. If you manage to provide your audience with the best content mix, they will be compelled to buy from you. And Instagram is key to content deliverance.

Set your goals

It doesn’t matter where you are standing in your Instagram marketing strategy. You are supposed to have a clear idea as to what you are planning to accomplish while you are on your Instagram account. Defining goals is critical to the content strategies that you will be using to make the most out of your profile.

It is a decent start to ask the following questions before you begin:

  • What is the purpose of you using Instagram?

  • How do you think Instagram will be assisting you in the overall success of your marketing plan?

  • How much budget or time are you willing to spend on your profile?

  • How do you think you will be able to use Instagram to offer something different to the audience?

Optimizing your Instagram profile

You won't be able to put every single piece of information about how your brand functions on Instagram. Or even if you do, nobody will be up to read it. If you have to grab the attention of your audience, you have to engage them in short, catchy content.

This will help you drive traffic to your website. So here are the things you need to pay attention to.

Your bio offers a snippet of everything your brand is about and determines if the visitor will be interested in checking your profile out. So make sure it truly represents who you are.

Your profile picture needs to be either a brand logo or a mascot. Again, it should represent your profile.

Put the link of your website in your bio. It will help drive traffic back to your website.

Content plan creation

Here is the most critical part of your entire Instagram marketing plan, creating the content itself. The plan of your content is going to help you decide what you are conveying to your audience. So without further ado, let’s jump into the elements that make up your content.

1. Composition.

You may or may not be an expert photographer. So if you are planning to picture your products or your services in a reasonable manner, here are the things you need to keep in mind:

  • The background color of your pictorial content should be solid

  • There should be extra space at either the top or the bottom. Write something about the product there.

  • There should not be anything extra in the photo that diverts the focus of the viewer.

2. Captions

Captions should be used to develop the interest of your audience in the picture. Do not make them longer than three lines, and it is best to use a catchy slogan.

3. Hashtags

Hashtags are a great way to get your content categorized and delivered to the right audience. So put the ones that are relevant to your post underneath it. Don’t use too many, don’t use too less as well.
